Training Ship Rahaman (T S Rahaman)

Overview

TS Rahman was established in 1910 as an orphanage, Training Ship Rahaman became South Asia’s first institute to train Indians as Merchant Navy officers. It has served the marine community with dedication for over a century, pioneering maritime education and empowering seafarers.

The late Chairman (Emeritus), Mr. A. Rashid Yusuf, named this Nautical Training Institute “Training Ship Rahaman” in 1972 in remembrance of his father, Mr. Abdul Rahaman, the first President of the Managing Board (and the eldest son of Sir Mohamed Yusuf).

The objective of the Maritime training program is to support aspiring Merchant navy officers in meeting the required competency standards for assuming responsibility as officers in charge of a navigational watch on ships weighing 500 gross tonnes or more. These standards are outlined in Regulation II/1, Table A – 1 of the STCW Code 1995.
All the courses are recognized by the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways and Government of India.

Hi

Dhruv

Sir is it important to have sponsorship for TS Rahman before joining it?? For DNS

Or we have to just fill the college form only and we will get the placement??

Hi Dhruv, yes it is important to have a sponsorship for DNS, and for DNS you company matters more rather than the college. If you don’t have sponsorship then I suggest you to go for Sponsorship then go for T.S. Rahaman. There are many sponsorship forms that are out which you can fill for instance, Fleet Management and then go for T.S. Rahaman.
