Graduate Marine Engineering(GME) is a one-year Diploma program that allows students of mechanical engineering to delve into the world of shipping. This program educates the students about the ships and different kinds of machinery onboard with their functions.
Graduates from GME programs undergo comprehensive training to acquire the skills and knowledge required to work on ships and contribute to the maritime industry. Some colleges that offer this program directly work under the DG Shipping of India which makes the complete process of selection and admission easy and seamless.
After passing out from a maritime college, a candidate can work as a junior engineer and later as a 4th Engineer after appearing for MEO Class IV Exams.
