For admission to the Diploma in Nautical Science, one needs to have the sponsorship of a shipping company and also must have cleared IMU CET (a good rank helps in merit). Sponsorship is the guarantee that the company gives to the candidate that he/she is selected for a particular shipping company and will be called on board once the training is finished. Yes, upon completion of 6 semesters of Diploma in Nautical Science (I, II – pre-sea, III, IV, V – on board, and VI – post-sea) a B.Sc Nautical Science degree is awarded.
